Worked the last few days at Fox Glacier, assisting in building a new motel. Fox is the other glacier town, and smaller and even quieter than franz. I was supposed to work 2 weeks out there, but 2 days of rain forecast caused us to come back for a few days. Rain means you cannot stick the big poly blocks this place is built out of together… which is hilarious considering that fox is one of the wetter places on this planet - with rain half the year or more.
Anyway, back in Queenstown for a few days then another week in Fox starting Monday. Too windy to ski today :-(.

Another ski resort in New Zealand - and my favorite so far. Uncrowded and some good steep chutes coupled with a fast lift.

The last 2 days I have been manning a stop go sign on roadworks on the Crown Range road. 2 days of letting happy smiley people with snowboards and skis on the roof pass. Surprisingly it was actually not bad - good group of people to wok with, good tunes on my iPod and awesome views. 360 degrees of snow capped mountains can be hypnotic. Made the days pass quicker. All this for the equivalent of £4.70 an hour. I miss UK wages!
On another note, I have booked my flights - will be back in England on December 21st 2007…….
